Frequently Asked Questions
What subjects do you offer tutoring in?
We offer tutoring in reading, writing, math, and other core academic areas for students in elementary through high school. Please contact us to ask about specific subjects or grade levels.
How does tutoring work at your center?
Tutoring is provided in small groups of two to three students per tutor. Each session is personalized based on the student’s current skill level, goals, and learning style.
Where does the tutoring take place?
All tutoring takes place on the main floor of my home in Center Line, Michigan, which has been set up specifically for learning. It’s a quiet, welcoming space designed to help students focus and feel comfortable.

How long is each tutoring session?
Each session is one hour long. We find that this length is ideal for maintaining focus and making meaningful progress without overwhelming the student.
How often should my child attend tutoring?
Most students attend 1–3 sessions per week, depending on their academic needs and goals.
How much does tutoring cost?
Tutoring is $33 per hour. In addition, there is a $20 materials fee for the school year and a $15 materials fee for summer sessions. These help cover the cost of printed materials, instructional tools, and other resources used during sessions. Our rates remain more affordable than many larger learning centers..
How do I track my child’s progress?
We provide a session summary after each session, highlighting what was worked on, areas of progress, and anything that may need continued focus.
Do you offer homework help?
Yes, we can provide targeted help to support homework completion and understanding, while also addressing the underlying academic skills.
What ages or grade levels do you work with?
We work with students from first grade through high school, and we tailor instruction to each developmental stage and academic level.
Can you help students with learning differences?
We have experience supporting a wide range of learning needs and always strive to meet each child where they are. However, we are not currently set up to provide specialized instruction for students with autism, significant special needs, or those who are non-English speaking. We want every student to receive the support they deserve and recommend that families seek services that are specifically designed to meet those needs.
How do I get started?
You can contact us via phone or email to schedule a free consultation. We’ll discuss your child’s needs, answer any questions, and recommend the best path forward.
Do you offer tutoring during the summer?
Yes, we offer tutoring year-round, including during the summer months. Summer is a great time to review past material, prevent learning loss, and get a head start on the upcoming school year.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel a session. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a $25 fee unless the session is rescheduled. Missed sessions without any notice (no-shows) will be charged the full session rate of $33.
What qualifications do your tutors have?
Our tutors have extensive experience in education and tutoring, with many years working directly with students of various ages and abilities. We prioritize patience, understanding, and effective teaching strategies.
Do you provide online tutoring options?
Currently, all sessions are held in person at our tutoring center. We do not offer online tutoring at this time.
What should my child bring to their tutoring sessions?
Students should bring any homework, textbooks, or materials they need help with. We also provide additional resources and materials during sessions.
Are parents involved in the tutoring process?
Yes, we encourage regular communication with parents to discuss progress and any concerns. Parents receive session summaries and can schedule consultations as needed.
